Established by the burn of Rothes in Speyside in 1879, The Glenrothes distillery has been producing its characteristic Speyside single Malt for over 130 years. The maturity of The Glenrothes is determined not by age, but by Vintage, resulting in some memorable moments, captured forever in specific expressions of this remarkable spirit. The Glenrothes is an award winning Speyside Single Malt Whisky of exceptional quality. A combination of many factors including unusually slow distillation process in tall copper pot stills deliver a characteristic sweet, fruity and elegant spirit. Further flavours are derived from our extensive knowledge of maturation in oak casks. Each expression has its own unique personality, underpinned by the distinctive, hallmark characteristics of the distillery – ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and an exquisite spicy finish all encased in the creamiest of textures and with a complex and well-poised balance.

Another superb release by the Glenrothes distillery. This 12 years old comes from the Soleo collection of whiskies by Glenrothes. This is named for the sun-drying process for grapes that are destined to become sherry in Jerez. A 12 year old age statement matured solely in sherry casks and boasting a 40% abv alcohol strength. A simply stunning whisky to accompany dinner.

Nose: Creamy vanilla, rock melon and cinnamon.

Palate: Peaches and lemon meringue lead to more vanilla and banana.

Finish: Hints of sherry and vanilla.

GLENROTHES Whisky Maker’s Cut. A rich non-age-statement whisky matured entirely in first-fill sherry casks, with notes of orange, vanilla, nutmeg and oak. It is part of The Soleo Collection: a range of five whiskies from Glenrothes, ranging from 10 to 25 years old, which pay homage to the grapes from which some sherries, such as Pedro Ximénez, are made. The red label on this bottle reflects the colour of the grape just before it begins to ripen.
