Irish Whiskey, craft beer barrels. Like all the best conversations, the one between Jameson’s Head of Whiskey Science and the Head Brewer of a local craft beer brewery, started at the bar. A swapping of whiskey and beer barrels soon after, resulted in Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition – triple-distilled, blended Irish Whiskey that has been patiently finished in Irish craft beer-seasoned barrels.
An initial aroma of freshly cut hay is complemented by a crisp orchard fruit character – green apples and pears, with a twist of lime zest. Mild pot still spices appear, deepening from green tea to hazelnut and milk chocolate. The initial sweet mouth coating typical of the Irish pot still inclusion is quickly complemented by the subtle touch of hops and cocoa beans from the beer cask finish.

Continuing the founder – John Jameson’s legacy of triple distillation while staying true to the pot still character he established in 1780, Jameson is remarkably smooth and perfectly balanced.
Following long maturation in oak casks, unpeated pure pot still and grain whiskies are blended to create the unique Jameson taste, a process overseen from ‘grain to glass’ at the Midleton Single Distillery in Cork.
Jameson has a warm, golden honey colour. This appetising appearance delivers through to the smooth and quality taste of the whiskey.

Hand selected casks, bottled at 46% with no chill filtration to ensure all the unique flavour is captured.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Spice and fruit notes mingle with an underlying sweet nose.
Taste: Strong spice at the start developing into lush red berries and grapes, with drying tannin effect at the end.
Finish: Dry finish dominated by wood and spice. 46% Alc.

This small batch bottling consists of hand selected casks which are given further maturation in ex-rum barrels imparting extra character and smooth flavour unique to Irish whiskey. Bottling at 46% with no chill filtration completes an Irish whiskey of true character.
While being very approachable the influence of the rum cask and higher percentage alcohol creates a unique smooth, sweet, slightly woody marriage that sparkles on the tongue.
