Known as ‘the single malt that started it all’ – The Glenlivet was the first licensed distillery in the parish of Glenlivet, established in 1824 and, in turn, defined the Speyside style of whisky which became the heartland of Scotch malt whisky production. The Glenlivet was the very first malt to be promoted in the US, as soon as Prohibition was lifted.

The delicate and complex character of the 12 Year Old derives from the height and width of stills at The Glenlivet Distillery. This expression is matured in a mixture of cask types, including American and European Oak. Maturation in American oak imparts vanilla notes and gives the whisky its distinct smoothness. The mineral rich water from Josie’s Well ensures the best possible results during mashing and fermenting to form the flavours that define this expression.

Inspired by Captain Bill Grant Smith, great grandson of our Founder George Smith, our new product will make you wander through the misty glens of Scottish Speyside to the rolling vineyards of French Cognac at every sip.

With the depth and complexity that comes from being matured for 16 years in a combination of first fill oak Bourbon casks and the finest Sherry butts, this expression’s warm fruity notes are enriched by an engagingly spicy sweetness. Creamy with sweet raisin aromas and a spicy nuttiness. A smooth blend of floral and spicy flavours, paired with a sweet plum fruitiness and gentle oakiness. Gloriously long, with a warm, honeyed spiciness.

The mature, deep, spicy one: a deeper Sherry influence adds more spiciness and a liquorice tang. Greater age adds body and develops the distinctive fruitiness to a rich raisin. Initial notes of soft apricot and cream are offset by developing flavours of blackcurrant jam and sweet oak with a touch of honey.

The oldest offering from Aberfeldy is crafted from a rare collection of casks aged for 21 years and longer. Re-fill and re-char casks provide a perfect harmony of rich Sherry casks and vanilla laden Bourbon casks.

Creamy macadamia nuts and chewy beeswax swarm the palate. Plush with orange, dried fruits, toasted coconut, silky oak and a trace of smoke.
