CHATEAU PAVIE 2009 – 750ML
CHATEAU PAVIE 2009 – 750MLThe 2009 was raised in 80% new oak and is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 Pavie has a very intense bouquet with ripe black plum, raspberry, kirsch and just a hint of cassis. It is controlled, well defined and unfurls nicely in the glass, exhibiting impressive purity. The palate is full-bodied with huge grip in the mouth. Powdered dark chocolate infuse the dark berry fruit, grippy tannins and an assertive, almost abrasive finish that will require a decade of bottle age.

CHATEAU PAVIE 2012 – 750ML
CHATEAU PAVIE 2012 – 750MLThis premier cru wine is adorned with a beautiful, deep violet color. The aromas are explosive, with smoky notes of roasted coffee and a range of rich, jammy black fruit typical of a great wine. Further signs of quality are evident on the palate, where a fresh attack and rich body are supported by elegant tannins that are very noticeable, yet fine. The mid-palate has an extraordinary volume and presence. The finish is long and flavorful, with a liveliness which gives balance to this wine made for long aging. Aromatically, the richness of this Pavie is already evident, but the wine’s texture requires time to polish tannins which are still immature. This is a wine whose greatness will become more evident in the future as time brings out the expression of its.

CHATEAU PAVIE 2013 – 750ML
CHATEAU PAVIE 2013 – 750MLMade from a blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), Château Pavie 2013 is a “miracle” wine. Indeed, in 2013, half of its production will have been destroyed by a bad flowering. And despite this, Château Pavie 2013 remains one of the greatest successes of this vintage!
Château Pavie 2013 presents a beautiful deep purple color and reveals a bouquet of black fruits, blackcurrant cream, blackberries, undergrowth, earth as well as spice and oak notes in the background.
Once in the mouth, Château Pavie 2013 shows a perfect balance between woody oak notes and black fruit aromas. Medium to full-bodied, with a creamy texture, it’s loaded with velvety tannins, that unfolds on the palate, leading to a smooth finish with a mineral chalky touch.

CHATEAU PICHON LONGUEVILLE COMTESSE DE LALANDE PAUILLAC 2014 – 750ML (OUT OF STOCK)The unique encepagement and the twelve hectares of vines situated on the soils of St Julien endow the wines of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande with an exceptional personality compared with the other crus of the Pauillac appellation. Complexity, elegance and longevity are the hallmarks of this race, they are found every year during the creation of the vintages..
The nose is distinguished by a bouquet of aromas, mixing blackcurrant and violet, vanilla and cinnamon. In the palate, the tannins appear mature and melted, revealing a strong and affirmed structure, a surprising suppleness, perfect harmony and long persistency. The wine is seductive when young without prejudicing its longevity. James Laubé of the Wine Spectator baptised Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, “A First Class Second Cru”, a most fitting tribute.

CHATEAU PONTET CANET COLLECTION 1990s – 1999s 6X 750ML (1990,1994,1995,1996,1998,1999)Château Pontet-Canet is an estate that needs little introduction. After fully transitioning to biodynamic viticulture in 2005, this all-star property has captivated wine lovers around the world not just because of the quality of their grand vin, but because of their revolutionary winemaking techniques and guidance of the legendary figure Alfred Tesseron.
The folks at Pontet-Canet are truly among the pioneers of Bordeaux’s shift to the now widely practiced biodynamic viticulture. Unlike other classified growths that believe in using the most cutting-edge technology to make great wines, Château Pontet-Canet is all about slowing down. Horse drawn carriages plough the vineyards, real people survey the fermentation vats 24 hours a day, and no electricity is used at the estate. Though these practices may seem unorthodox, their results are undeniable and they certainly are very interesting points of conversation to say the least.
The 1990s were a pivotal time for Château Pontet-Canet, largely due to the fact that Alfred Tesseron took over managing the estate in 1994 and began transitioning the property over to biodynamic viticulture at that time. Each vintage during that decade increased in quality, and this offering from Château Pontet-Canet offers fans of the estate six ready-to-drink vintages from that formidable decade. This mixed case offers buyers the opportunity to take a trip back in time to that pivotal time and experience for themselves the evolutionary results of Alfred Tesseron’s visionary winemaking techniques, featuring a vertical selection from 1990, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, and 1999.

CHATEAU SMITH HAUT LAFITTE 2014 – 750MLThe 2014 Smith-Haut-Lafitte has a fragrant mulberry and strawberry scented bouquet with cedar and subtle undergrowth scents emerging with time. There is something almost Musigny-like here (written as a complement incidentally—why not be compared to the greatest Burgundy Grand Cru?). The palate is medium-bodied with a soft and mellow opening. Quite spicy in the mouth with leather-tinged fruit on the open and inviting finish, there is something very approachable about this Smith-Haut-Lafitte, though like the 2014 Pape-Clement, it contains the substance to drink well over 10-15 years.

CHATEAU SMITH HAUT LAFITTE BLANC 2017 – 750MLOne of the whites of the vintage is the 2017 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc, which is based on 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% each of Sauvignon Gris and Semillon. Offering a huge, salty, mineral-laced bouquet of crushed lemons, acacia flowers, pineapple, and crushed rocks, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, racy acidity, a stacked mid-palate, and a crisp, chiseled, lengthy finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It has the fruit and texture to drink nicely even today, yet my money is on it benefiting from 2-4 years of bottle age, and it should have over two decades of longevity.

DUCRU BEAUCAILLOU 1975 – 750ML
DUCRU BEAUCAILLOU 1975 – 750MLSaint Julien may not have any first growths, but if we forget about ranking and focus on quality, Château Ducru Beaucaillou is a perfect ambassador for the appellation. Created at the end of the 17th century, the property quickly demonstrated a capacity to produce fine wines. A century later, when mildew was destroying many of Bordeaux’s vineyards, Ducru Beaucaillou managed to escape thanks to a new treatment discovered by the château’s steward: the famous bouillie bordelaise (Bordeaux mixture) consisting of copper sulphate and lime, which is still used today. However, as it was popular in America, the property suffered greatly during prohibition, which deprived it of many customers. In 1941, Ducru Beaucaillou was bought by Francis Borie, who renovated the winery and replanted the vineyard. The property is still skillfully managed by the Borie family, who have managed to maintain the exceptional quality of the production.
The considerable presence of cailloux (pebbles) in the vineyard’s soil, which is of course the origin of the château’s name, contributes greatly to the wine’s quality.
Perfectly balanced, it reveals a lovely aromatic bouquet, that is enhanced by notes of cedar and spices. Unusually long to evolve, this wine needs at least ten years to express all of its finesse and complexity.

GAJA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO – 750MLThe powerful Brunello di Montalcino from Italy is a pure wine, vinified from the Sangiovese grape variety. In Tuscany, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils. The Brunello di Montalcino is an old world wine throughout, because this Italian exudes an extraordinary European charm, which clearly underlines the success of wines from the old world. After harvesting, the grapes quickly reach the press house.
Here they are selected and carefully ground. The fermentation is then carried out at controlled temperatures, followed by maturation.
Experience this red wine from Italy ideally tempered at 15 – 18°C as a companion to rocket pine, chickpea curry or vegetable pot with pesto.

GAJA CA’MARCANDA MAGARI BOLGHERI DOP – 750ML
GAJA CA’MARCANDA MAGARI BOLGHERI DOP – 750MLMagari means ‘if only it were true!’, an expression used often in Italian to express desire, hope, and a vision of a bright future. Embracing, structured, voluptuous, and lively. The winter and springtime have been both marked by abundant and frequent rainfalls, thus creating the ideal water reserves for the growing season. However, thanks to the rainy spring and the accurate mulching the vines did not suffer the drought. Strong diurnal temperature exchanges during the ripening period, with picks of 12-15 °C, allowed a slow and even maturation of the grapes.
Due to the peculiar dryness of the season, the diseases pressure in the vineyard has been minimal, allowing the harvest of extremely healthy grapes. Magari’s international and widely appealing grape varietals offer a fresh approach to Italian wines and a lushness that is attractive to a broader wine drinker.
Glowing and intense colour. Polished, refined, focused and expressive, with notes of eucalyptus, pepper and pine. A typical notes of the local Mediterranean bushes and berries rise from the glass. Fine-grained tannins surround a sleek core of black cherry, blackberry and liquorice flavours, with nice fresh nuances gliding through a long and expressive finish. The harmony between vibrant acidity and refined tannins is a premise for an excellent aging potential.

HUBERT DE BOUARD SONG BY BONG 2019 – 750MLSong is full of freshness with a round mouthfeel and a delicate touch of oak. The velvety soft tannins, provide an easy drinking style. The flavor profile is characterized by a range of intense and powerful dark fruits and offer a deep, spicy nose. The initial flavors are delicate, growing in richness with a depth of fruit. The finish is long with a touch of oak.
The good meteorological conditions of the vintage created an excellent concentration, benefitting the Merlot in particular, which shows its richer side. The depth of the fruit and the aromatic concentration provide an excellent balance to this wine. Light and fruity, while retaining a classic elegance, Song is a wine that personifies Bong. Thanks to silkiness of the tannins (the hallmark of Right Bank wine) Song is a wine that can be enjoyed young, but can easily age 10 to 15 years.
Song By Bong represents first and foremost my crossing paths with Hubert de Boüard of Chateau Angelus.

JOSEPH DROUHIN MEURSAULT PREMIER CRU LES CHARMES 2020 – 750MLAt first sight, the wine is a perfect illustration of its place name. It is worthy of the wonderful Meursault whose colour is golden without being yellow. The nose, concentrated and elegant, full without being heady, evokes aromas of almond, warm bread just taken out of the oven, hot croissant, then, fine spice and finally grilled dried fruit.
The flavours are at the same refined level as the aromas.
The body is round without being heavy; the acidity is well integrated and is never biting. The texture feels like silk without the alcohol ever being dominant. The wine develops on the palate and opens up fully until the very long aftertaste brings back some of the precious aromas felt in the bouquet: almond paste and hot brioche”
