The Double Barrel Range was first launched back in 2014 and is crafted from grapes matured in wine barrels and then finished in aged whiskey barrels to build layers of complexity and a richer, deeper, smoother taste. Rum is the latest innovation for the Double Barrel range, which was chosen due to its flavour profile of fruit and cacao lending itself perfectly to red wine.
Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Shiraz Cabernet Finished In Aged Caribbean Rum is first matured in traditional French and American oak wine barrels and then, once blended, is finished in Caribbean rum barrels. The result is a combination of rich flavours, creating cocoa and vanilla on the palate from the traditional oak barrels, mixed with rum and raisin flavours and a hint of Christmas cake, thanks to the rum barrels.
