2019 is among the exceptional vintages of Château Margaux. The wines are characterized by smooth tannins and a great freshness of aromas that almost make you forget the wine’s exceptional concentration. Easy to drink young, this vintage nevertheless has great potential to age.

On this occasion, Château Margaux is launching a special limited edition case, featuring its three wines. This mixed case consists of three bottles of Château Margaux, two bottles of Pavillon Rouge and one bottle of Pavillon Blanc, thus offering a complete tasting of the 2019 vintage.

This unique collection, named « La Trilogie 2019 », is a limited series of only one thousand cases.

A new embossing technique was used for the top of the case, adding an elegant golden relief to the Château Margaux logo, underlined by the name of this case in cursive. With this 2019 trilogy, Château Margaux presents an exceptional vintage, a true reflection of our commitment to excellence.

2x Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 2019 (96 Points – James Suckling, 95 Points – Wine Advocate)

On the occasion of the Chinese New Year and to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, Château Margaux has created a special limited edition case. Only 100 cases, all numbered, were produced.All three bottles of fine wines come with security measures and are presented in specially designed wooden cases embossed with the logo of Château Margaux and the Chinese character for “Dragon”

Each case features a bottle from the following three vintages:

– 1988: This is an exceptional wine. The Château Margaux 1988 has a very deep color. The nose is rich and intense, and the structure on the palate is magnificent.

– 2000: Born in ideal weather conditions, the Château Margaux 2000 is a Extraordinary vintage. It is at once complex, dense and powerful, and incomparably elegant. 2000 is a wine that seems to have been built for eternity.

– 2012: Château Margaux 2012 is a perfect example of the sweetness, delicacy, charm and balance that are the signature of Château Margaux wines.

Made from a blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), Château Pavie 2013 is a “miracle” wine. Indeed, in 2013, half of its production will have been destroyed by a bad flowering.And despite this, Château Pavie 2013 remains one of the greatest successes of this vintage!

Château Pavie 2013 presents a beautiful deep purple color and reveals a bouquet of black fruits, blackcurrant cream, blackberries, undergrowth, earth as well as spice and oak notes in the background.

Once in the mouth, Château Pavie 2013 shows a perfect balance between woody oak notes and black fruit aromas. Medium to full-bodied, with a creamy texture, it’s loaded with velvety tannins, that unfolds on the palate, leading to a smooth finish with a mineral chalky touch.

The 2014 Smith-Haut-Lafitte has a fragrant mulberry and strawberry scented bouquet with cedar and subtle undergrowth scents emerging with time. There is something almost Musigny-like here (written as a complement incidentally—why not be compared to the greatest Burgundy Grand Cru?). The palate is medium-bodied with a soft and mellow opening. Quite spicy in the mouth with leather-tinged fruit on the open and inviting finish, there is something very approachable about this Smith-Haut-Lafitte, though like the 2014 Pape-Clement, it contains the substance to drink well over 10-15 years.
