The complex nose offers outstanding aromas of ripe black fruits such as figs and blackberries complemented by notes of crème de cassis, while spices such as cayenne pepper appear over a backdrop of dark chocolate, which masterfully envelopes subtle aromas of leather and tobacco. The palate with perfectly rounded tannins that trigger an explosion of the fruit on the mid-palate.

The nose opens with notes of red and black fruit like plum and blackberry, together with spice, red pepper and nutmeg, which then give way to some tobacco, dark chocolate and coffee. The well-balanced and enveloping texture allows you to appreciate the freshness of the red fruit on the palate, with rounded and refined tannins that give way to a long, deep finish.

Very lively ruby red in color with an expressive nose featuring aromas of tart cherries and fresh strawberries over a floral backdrop with notes of rose petals and wild herbs. Vanilla and caramel aromas blend with those characteristic of the variety. The palate is well balanced with rich natural acidity that makes this a fresh and juicy wine. It’s perfectly rounded tannins lend good structure and a sweet sensation that is very characteristic of our Limited Selection Pinot Noir. It has medium volume and good persistence with an elegant and very fruity finish.

Twins is the result of Montes winemakers Aurelio Montes Sr. and son Aurelio Montes Jr. self imposed challenge to create a unique wine. Not agreeing on the blend after hours of discussions, father and son decided to create their own wine. Surprisingly they did agree that blending together what each had separately crafted would create a superb wine, the result of perfect team work of winemakers and grape varieties each adding up to a wine greater than the sum of its parts. The vineyards are located in the Colchagua Valley. Their soils are derived from granite in differing stages of decomposition, with extensive areas with moderate depths of red clay, and little organic matter. This type of soils has stones at depth and alluvial sediments, which provides limited capacity for moisture retention.

Montes Twins is loaded with aromas of red and black fruit, sweet spices and bitter chocolate. The wine is creamy, youthful and easy to drink.
