Bols Amaretto is a gold-brown liqueur. Amaretto, which originated in Italy, is famous for its sweet almond aroma and nutty caramel flavour.

Amaretto liqueur is said to have been invented by the woman who modeled for Renaissance-era Italian painter, Bernardino Luini, in 1525. Luini, a follower of Leonardo da Vinci’s art style, chose the mother of a local child to be his model for the Madonna. In return she gave him ringraziarlo a gift, a drink distilled from almonds.

Bols Amaretto is essential for classic drinks such as the Amaretto Sour, and also for more modern drinks like the Alabama Slammer and Screaming Orgasm.

Bols Apricot Brandy uses fresh apricot juice supported by tones of orange to give it a richer, fullerflavour that matches its golden-amber colour. Bols Apricot Brandy has been the apricot liqueur for a very long time: as well as being the original apricot liqueur in the Mai Tai, Zombie and Apricot Fizz, it is surprisingly tasty just with orange juice or soda.

Bols Coconut is a delicious clear rum-based liqueur that caters perfectly for modern tastes. Its surprisingly direct flavour avoids the over-sweetness of other coconut rums or liqueurs making it a very mixable ingredient. Mild sweet coconut toned down by the harmonious combination with rum.

Bols Cacao Brown is a dark liqueur packed with the rich flavour of bitter, dark chocolate and hints of orange and vanilla. Because the cacao (chocolate) flavour comes from the percolation of cacao beans, Bols Creme de Cacao Brown tastes more like dark chocolate than the distilled-not-percolated Bols Creme de Cacao White, which tastes more like milk chocolate. Creme de Cacao liqueur has been around for a very long time, and Bols has always been the predominant brand, featuring in both the original Alexander and the wildly popular variant, the Brandy Alexander. In the 80s, Bols Creme de Cacao was used principally in creamy and ice cream drinks, but lately it has proved supremely adaptable to various after-dinner cocktails like the Mulata Daiquiri and After Eight cocktail.
