Tasting Notes –
Colour – Clear pale yellow
Nose – Pure aromas of white floral, fresh lime, tangerine and hints of mineral.
Palate – Dry with clean and fresh acidity, refreshing with flavours of lemon. Slightly salty with a tinge of grapefruit bitterness.

HUBERT DE BOUARD SONG BY BONG 2019 – 750MLSong is full of freshness with a round mouthfeel and a delicate touch of oak. The velvety soft tannins, provide an easy drinking style. The flavor profile is characterized by a range of intense and powerful dark fruits and offer a deep, spicy nose. The initial flavors are delicate, growing in richness with a depth of fruit. The finish is long with a touch of oak.
The good meteorological conditions of the vintage created an excellent concentration, benefitting the Merlot in particular, which shows its richer side. The depth of the fruit and the aromatic concentration provide an excellent balance to this wine. Light and fruity, while retaining a classic elegance, Song is a wine that personifies Bong. Thanks to silkiness of the tannins (the hallmark of Right Bank wine) Song is a wine that can be enjoyed young, but can easily age 10 to 15 years.
Song By Bong represents first and foremost my crossing paths with Hubert de Boüard of Chateau Angelus.

It is therefore logical to produce Intuition de Fleur Cardinale with the same approach as for the First Wine, i.e. identical vine-growing methods, harvesting, vinification and ageing.
It is in fact only at the end of one year of ageing, according to the profile of the vintage, which batches will be better blended in the First Wine and which are more suitable for the Second Wine.
Intuition of Fleur Cardinale shows an intense aromatic profile of ripe black fruits. The palate is both fresh and smooth, with silky tannins that give a lot of finesse.

The flavours are at the same refined level as the aromas.
The body is round without being heavy; the acidity is well integrated and is never biting. The texture feels like silk without the alcohol ever being dominant. The wine develops on the palate and opens up fully until the very long aftertaste brings back some of the precious aromas felt in the bouquet: almond paste and hot brioche”

He won this competition and decided to take the opportunity to make a wine nobody else would have thought of. A wine the world and he would enjoy. Seventy years later the wine remains famous.
The wine is unique and of constant quality. A majority of grenache, an important share of reserve wines – 30% to 40% (some of which are 5 years old) give it fruitiness, freshness and maturity, intensity and smoothness. the wine can be savoured immediately or be kept 5 to 7 years.
