The Bordeaux Blanc de la Collection, made from Sauvignon and Sémillon, explodes in freshness on the palate, awakens simple emotions, lives and vibrates like wines which, beyond the most advanced viticultural technology, decline the score of pleasure on all registers. Sémillon is favored to register this cuvée in the style of R de Rieussec (dry white wine from Château Rieussec).

Lovingly cared for by a multitude of winegrowers, the common characteristic of Bordeaux’s vineyards is the elegance and freshness of their wines which, while they reflect a rich culture and are surrounded by a certain grandeur, are nonetheless easy to drink.
A wine for every day, for a dinner with friends, or a glass in front of the fire, the Collection’s Bordeaux Rouge is a well-balanced blend of traditional grape varieties consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. As the main variety, the Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine the classic elegance of the Lafite style, while the ageing gives it charm and a well-rounded character.

Nose: Intense, very expressive, dominated by fresh fruit aromas (red currant, raspberry) blended with discreet notes of oak.

Coming from the Barons de Rothschild’s own Domaines (Lafite), the Pauillacs in the Collection are treated with all the respect due to great wines: made from the young vines of the properties, they offer the image of a wine with the classicism of good bye. Their structure, less concentrated than their prestigious elders, concedes a faster evolution and, after a few months of cellaring, they reach a fullness and a complexity that their Médoc neighbors would not deny.
An original and unique style.
Deep purple robe fading slightly to black. Fine and complex nose announcing a promising bouquet as it ages. When swirled, aromas appear delicately mixed with undergrowth, spices and pencil lead. Present on the palate, this generous wine reveals a beautiful persistence and richness of aromas. A wine worth waiting for. Vinified and matured by the technical teams of the “Maison”, these wines are made in part from the youngest vines. If their less concentrated structure concedes them a faster evolution, they require no less, nobility of the soil obliges, a few months of guard. Like their Médoc neighbours, they will be bottled when they have reached a certain fullness and a nice complexity.
Color: Deep purple, some tiled shades.
Nose: Fine, elegant and complex, dominated by notes of vanilla and cocoa. When swirled, aromas of black berries and spices appear.
Palate: Ample, heady on the palate, with present but silky tannins, and a nice fresh (menthol notes) and spicy finish.

DUCRU BEAUCAILLOU 1975 – 750MLSaint Julien may not have any first growths, but if we forget about ranking and focus on quality, Château Ducru Beaucaillou is a perfect ambassador for the appellation. Created at the end of the 17th century, the property quickly demonstrated a capacity to produce fine wines. A century later, when mildew was destroying many of Bordeaux’s vineyards, Ducru Beaucaillou managed to escape thanks to a new treatment discovered by the château’s steward: the famous bouillie bordelaise (Bordeaux mixture) consisting of copper sulphate and lime, which is still used today. However, as it was popular in America, the property suffered greatly during prohibition, which deprived it of many customers. In 1941, Ducru Beaucaillou was bought by Francis Borie, who renovated the winery and replanted the vineyard. The property is still skillfully managed by the Borie family, who have managed to maintain the exceptional quality of the production.
The considerable presence of cailloux (pebbles) in the vineyard’s soil, which is of course the origin of the château’s name, contributes greatly to the wine’s quality.
Perfectly balanced, it reveals a lovely aromatic bouquet, that is enhanced by notes of cedar and spices. Unusually long to evolve, this wine needs at least ten years to express all of its finesse and complexity.
