MONTES TWIN RED BLEND – 750ML (OUT OF STOCK)Twins is the result of Montes winemakers Aurelio Montes Sr. and son Aurelio Montes Jr. self imposed challenge to create a unique wine. Not agreeing on the blend after hours of discussions, father and son decided to create their own wine. Surprisingly they did agree that blending together what each had separately crafted would create a superb wine, the result of perfect team work of winemakers and grape varieties each adding up to a wine greater than the sum of its parts. The vineyards are located in the Colchagua Valley. Their soils are derived from granite in differing stages of decomposition, with extensive areas with moderate depths of red clay, and little organic matter. This type of soils has stones at depth and alluvial sediments, which provides limited capacity for moisture retention.
Montes Twins is loaded with aromas of red and black fruit, sweet spices and bitter chocolate. The wine is creamy, youthful and easy to drink.

MOUNT PLEASANT OLD PADDOCK & OLD HILL – 750MLFirst planted by Maurice O’Shea in 1921, the Old Paddock vineyard enjoys an elevated easterly aspect overlooking Mount Pleasant estate and some of the oldest shiraz vines in the world. Fruit from these low-yielding vines is blended with shiraz from the nearby Old Hill vineyard, first planted in 1880, to deliver a complex, brooding wine, rich in character and steeped in heritage. This distinguished partnership between these two highly celebrated vineyard sites, the Old Paddock and Old Hill vineyards deliver a small parcel of just 10 hectares of old gnarly shiraz vines. Planted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these vines have buried their roots deep into the ancient volcanic soil of the site.
Intense pepper from Old Paddock fruit pairs perfectly with the lifted red fruits of the cooler Old Hill vineyard. French oak vanillin balances rich tannin for a supple finish.
