Château Samson is located 2 kilometers from Pomerol, near the legendary Pétrus estate. Passed down for 3 generations, it is now managed by Guy and Barbara Janoueix. This vineyard is planted on sandy-gravelly soil and an “iron filth” subsoil known to bring its velvety texture to the best wines of the appellation. On these 9 hectares, the estate also produces a special cuvée called Cuvée Secrète. More accessible than its predecessor, it will offer a lot of tasting pleasure now and for the next 10 year.

This tasty wine develops fruity and woody aromas, and displays a powerful and concentrated style. Notice to lovers of the Right Bank, this typical reference of its prestigious appellation is to be discovered absolutely.

A blend of 71% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Carmenere and 2 % Malbec. Superb impenetrable inky black core with a deep bright dark red black hue. Nosing reveals uplifted aromatics of ripe blackcurrant intermixed with a hint of plum and liquorice followed by faint earth and spicy cedar. The palate possesses excellent richness, solid concentration and chewy finish. Mouthfilling flavours of blackcurrants and a touch of liquorice sit over a back drop of scorched earth, subtle graphite infusions and spicy cedar. Whilst the tannins are chewy and provide some grip, they are riper and not as dry as the 2014 vintage. Good length with a medium to long aftertaste of blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, infusions of graphite, scorched earth and spicy cedar.

Château Tour Prignac is a deep ruby red in colour. The nose is pleasantly spicy, with aromas of ripe red fruits. An initially creamy texture gives way to a solid structure provided by silky tannins. This is an elegant wine, with a delightful finish.
