At full strength, the initial aroma is a beguiling mix of warm Christmas cake, walnut oil and parma violets fused with fresh ocean spice, cedar and pine needles falling from the Christmas tree. A smouldering coal fire and the scent of well-oiled leather brings warmth. The sweetness of treacle toffees and chocolate-coated raisins emerge through the smoke. With water, the deep smokiness increases in intensity, reminiscent of a fired Christmas pudding. Rich flowering currants and warm baked banana and walnut bread are served with simmering mocha espresso.
Full flavoured and rich with a deep mouth-coating texture, the taste is an intriguing balance between sweet, spicy and deep smoky flavours. The flavour is initially sweet.

Cattier was able to create a blend of grapes that fit what we had sought. Armand de Brignac bottles are filled, corked, and cultivated by hand by our caretakers throughout the aging process. The Armand de Brignac cellars are considered the deepest in the Reims Terroir. This Champagne is rated at 94 Points by Wine & Spirits Magazine.
Armand de Brignac is marvelously complex and full-bodied, its bouquet is both fresh and lively, with light floral notes. On the palate, our Brut Gold has a sumptuous, racy fruit character perfectly integrated with the wine’s subtle brioche accents. The Champagne’s texture is deliciously creamy, with great depth paired with a long, silky finish. Pale gold with lime lights; vin gris. Fresh and ‘green’; malty and yeasty, with notes of wheat beer, giving way to mossy herbal scents and to fresh apples and pear-drops with water. A light texture and a clean, sweet, slightly acidic taste at full strength, becoming softer and rounded with water.
