As you may have guessed from the name of this expression, GlenDronach is going back in time with Traditionally Peated. More specifically, about 200 years back, to the year 1826 when the distillery was founded, and it was common practice in the Highlands to burn peat in the kiln towards the end of the barley malting. For the whisky, the distillery has kept its traditional sherried style, marrying liquid from a range of Pedro Ximenez, Oloroso sherry and Port casks, all bottled up at 48% ABV.

Oak and oak sherry casks for at least 12 years is a Speyside style Scotch and is showcased in the distillery’s trademark triangular bottle. Tastewise, there is a good mouth sense that provides notes of oak, fruit, smoke, and a hint of spices.

Glenfiddich 26-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was created to honor the distillery’s long, continuous line of family ownership since its founding by William Grant in 1887. It is matured for over a quarter century exclusively in American Oak, ex-bourbon casks straight from Kentucky. The “Quercus Alba” wood used in these casks imparts subtle spices and vanilla notes throughout the aging process, and contributes to an overall soft and delicate whisky.
