With half spending its life in American oak embodying Glen Moray’s classic style, the other half maturing in oloroso sherry casks resplendent with rich spice, it bring their contrasting styles together to craft intensely complex layers. With tastes of dried fruits, dark chocolate and spice, amplified by age, this Scotch whisky is a perfect treat for single malt lovers eager to discover more.

Tasting Notes:
NOSE: Sherried oak and butter toffee. Hints of dark chocolate and mixed spice.
TASTE: Full-bodied finely-oaked wine flavours, spiced dark chocolate and a hint of smoke.
FINISH: The oak lingers as the dried fruit sweetness gradually fades. A finish which is intense and satisfying.

Created from a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons along with a small quantity of Virgin Oak casks and red wine barriques, the resulting bronze spirit delivers sherry-matured sophistication.

Glendronach is pleased to announce the release of The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated; a rare peated expression of the Highland Single Malt, which is most well-known for its unpeated sherry cask maturation style.

The GlenDronach 12 Year Old, epitomises the unyielding dedication to the mastery of the craft. Matured in fine Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía in Spain, this richly sherried Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky presents smooth vanilla, soft fruits and a memorably long, nutty finish, for which it has become renowned. The expression is bottled at 43%, non-chill filtered and natural in colour.

As you may have guessed from the name of this expression, GlenDronach is going back in time with Traditionally Peated. More specifically, about 200 years back, to the year 1826 when the distillery was founded, and it was common practice in the Highlands to burn peat in the kiln towards the end of the barley malting. For the whisky, the distillery has kept its traditional sherried style, marrying liquid from a range of Pedro Ximenez, Oloroso sherry and Port casks, all bottled up at 48% ABV.
