A small-batch Scottish gin from the Balmenach distillery in Speyside. Caorunn (pronounced ka-room), made with a combination of traditional and handpicked botanicals including rowan berry, heather, Coul blush apple and dandelion.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Floral at first, with notes of heather and citrus blossom. Juniper takes shape as it develops.
Palate: Orange oil, rosemary and subtle sweetness of heather honey.
Finish: Drying juniper and leafy herbs. A pinch of peppery rye lingers.

Crafted at Balmenach Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, Caorunn’s new Scottish Raspberry Gin is produced by infusing five locally-foraged botanicals with six more traditional gin botanicals and Perthshire raspberries in small 1,000 litre batches. This new Caorunn edition is infused in what they believe to be the world’s only working Copper Berry Chamber.

Bottled at 41.8% ABV, Caorunn Scottish Raspberry combines the dry, crisp taste Caorunn is known for, but with a new natural raspberry sweetness.

Tasting Notes:
The invigorating dry, crisp taste of Caorunn is enhanced by a natural raspberry sweetness. Its aroma is a blast of raspberry fruitiness with lingering vanilla softness. Distinctively fruity, raspberry and the tartness of rowan to the fore in flavour, and gives a pleasing mouthfeel with bright, clean, fresh flavours lingering in the finish.

Tasting Notes:
Colour: Darkened deep red.
Nose: Unabashed (Baby Grange) complexities. Ample self-standing fruits already beginning to yield to other vinous intents. Cola, grated chocolate and cappuccino dust bind with juniper and spices. A flash of brown sugar and liquorice, brandy impressions replaced by blood orange-rind. Oak somewhat partially hidden, yet faint scents of cedar and graphite lobby for further bottle maturation.
Palate: Instantly fresh and fleshy. Some overt single-varietal cabernet and shiraz fruits still sit separate. Expected liquorice, stewed plum and blackcurrant, with dark chocolate and mocha in the background. Savoury and salivating – mouth-watering, succulent acidity. Impressive length with concentration, and a mandatory Bin 389 ‘sweet’ core; oak completely absorbed. Polished and refined.
