THE BOTANIST ISLAY DRY GIN – 700MLThe Botanist is a unique, limited edition gin produced on the island of Islay by Bruichladdich distillery. More well known for its excellent single malt whiskies, The Botanist Gin can be seen as a far cry to Bruichladdich’s other releases, yet applies a similar focus on complexity and regionality as its island counterparts. Of the 31 different botanicals used in the production, 22 are from Islay itself, including the juniper. These botanicals are added to a pot-still called ‘Ugly Betty’ and distilled in a process that takes around three times longer than the traditional gin production process. The resulting spirit is marked out by a seductive and complex fruit and spice character, which is smooth, mellow and pure. This 700ml bottle is best served in the classic martini form or mixed with tonic water.
